Twins hit the headlines after coming to this world not only on different days in different months but also in different years.
Kali Jo Scott is a proud 37-year-old mother whose twin girls Annie Jo and Effie Rose were born in different years in rare and confusing birth.
As the mom revealed, she was scheduled for a Cesarian on January 11. Her two babies, however, didn’t want to wait this long.
On December 29, Kali was hospitalized after her doctor noticed her blood pressure had dropped during a check-up.
Two days after her hospitalization, the mother gave birth to Annie Jo at precisely 11:55 pm. Just six minutes later, at 12:01 am, Effie Rose was born.
This means that Annie was born in December 2022 while her twin sister Effie was born in January 2023.
“I love the unique aspect that they get to go forward with a little bit of individualism right out of the gates,” Kali Jo admitted.
“We had joked at that point, once we realized that we weren’t going to leave the hospital without babies, that wouldn’t it be funny.
“We had a couple friends who said the same thing and then it ended up happening that way.”
As Kali and her husband, Cliff Scott, explained, the doctors decided to perform the C-section on New Year’s Eve to avoid risks that could arise should they wait any longer.
The thrilled mother-of-two added: “We’re going to have to start celebrating New Year’s a little differently now.
“One will get to celebrate New Year’s Eve going out and [the other] gets to celebrate New Year’s Day and the new year coming in. I love it. I think it is hilarious and just super fun.”
