32-year-old Kayla Gilnes of the UK is a ᴛʀɪᴘʟᴇᴛ. And after she and her husband Allen spent years sᴛʀᴜɢɢʟɪɴɢ ᴛᴏ ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇ, she ғᴇᴀʀᴇᴅ she’d ɴᴇᴠᴇʀ become a mom. But by the grace of Gᴏᴅ, her parenting wish came true. And after some ᴜɴʙᴇʟɪᴇᴠᴀʙʟᴇ ᴛᴜʀɴ ᴏғ ᴇᴠᴇɴᴛs, concluding with a ǫᴜᴀᴅʀᴜᴘʟᴇᴛ ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏ, Kayla is now mom to 8 children.
She said :”Sometimes Allen and I can’t believe what has happened to us. We spent 10 years trying for a family and now we have a massive family of eight children and us!” Two years ago she ғᴇʟʟ ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with triplets ᴀғᴛᴇʀ ғᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ. Two of ᴛʜᴇ ᴛᴏᴛs sᴜʀᴠɪᴠᴇᴅ but one ᴅɪᴇᴅ in the ᴡᴏᴍʙ. So when she ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇᴅ again ,this time naturally. Kayla was sᴛᴀɢɢᴇʀᴇᴅ to discover she was due to have Fᴏᴜʀ more children. She added: “We just couldn’t believe it when I went for a sᴄᴀɴ and the ᴅᴏᴄᴛᴏʀ told me that I was ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with ǫᴜᴀᴅʀᴜᴘʟᴇᴛs . We had been trying for so many years to Fᴀʟʟ ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ ɴᴀᴛᴜʀᴀʟʟʏ and to discover I was going to have Fᴏᴜʀ babies, especially when I’m a ᴛʀɪᴘʟᴇᴛ myself, was just ᴜɴʙᴇʟɪᴇᴠᴀʙʟᴇ. We were very ɴᴇʀᴠᴏᴜs as we knew howʀɪsᴋʏ a ǫᴜᴀᴅʀᴜᴘʟᴇᴛs ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏ can be, but luckily all the babies ᴡᴇʀᴇ ʙᴏʀɴ sᴀFᴇʟʏ.”
Kayla got the mother of all surprises when she lay on the sᴄᴀɴɴɪɴɢ table and the sᴏɴᴏɢʀᴀᴘʜᴇʀ ʀᴀɴ ᴛʜᴇ sᴄᴀɴɴᴇʀ ᴏᴠᴇʀ ʜᴇʀ sᴛᴏᴍᴀᴄʜ. Expecting to see one ʜᴇᴀʀᴛʙᴇᴀᴛ, Kayla watched agog as one, two, three and finally four appeared. She said: “It was ǫᴜᴀᴅʀᴜᴘʟᴇᴛs. And ɴᴀᴛᴜʀᴀʟʟʏ ᴏᴄᴄᴜʀʀɪɴɢ ones too, because this time I hadn’t taken any ғᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ ᴅʀᴜɢs at all. It just felt so surreal, like a dream. I even had to take a couple of days off work, just to get my head around being ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with Fᴏᴜʀ babies. I was so sɪᴄᴋ and every day I was ᴛᴇʀʀɪғɪᴇᴅ that I was going to ʟᴏsᴇ one or more of the babies. We had been through it before and I didn’t think we could cope with losing any more. They were delivered then by Cᴀᴇsᴀʀᴇᴀɴ and the ᴏᴘᴇʀᴀᴛɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇᴀᴛʀᴇ ᴡᴀs ᴘᴀᴄᴋᴇᴅ with people. We had two beautiful little girls, Oaklee and Lincoln, and two gorgeous boys, Jamesen and Reese.”
Kayla and Allen finally feel as though their family is complete. And while their ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏ journey is nothing like they ever imagined, Kayla says she thanks Gᴏᴅ for it every day!
