One-Year-Old Chef Gains Internet Fame With His Cooking Classes

Watch out, Emeril Lagasse and Gordon Ramsay. There’s a new cooking personality stealing the hearts of foodies everywhere. He’s a cutie. He makes some bam-worthy dishes, and he giggles his way through the recipes. Kobe Wian has already amassed a significant following on his Instagram, ‘Kobe Eats,’ and he’s only a year old.

Meet Kobe Wian

With his signature red chef hat, or toque, and apron, @kobe_yn is the cutest dish ever. Yes, he may be in his first year of life, but this tot is already a pro around the kitchen. That’s not to mention that he’s already an Internet sensation. Let’s just say he has more followers than the number of people in the state of Idaho. He’s on a real roll.

Of course, Kobe is officially mom’s sous-chef, and mom and dad “manage” Kobe’s Instagram page. Still, the adorable videos show who’s really in charge—Kobe. He isn’t afraid to do a taste test for the family meals, isn’t stingy with taste test-passed ingredients, and he’s certainly not afraid to get his hands dirty in the kitchen.

How did Kobe get his own Instagram cooking show? Mom, Ashley, says it all actually started by accident. She brought Kobe into the kitchen with her as a way to help develop his fine and gross motor skills.

Touching and coordinating foods during cooking was a good way for Kobe to learn. He had a blast from the very start. So, she started recording his fun. It soon turned into fans begging for more Kobe videos.

Mom comes up with a dinner recipe. Kobe stars as the master mixer, dipper, and pourer. Mom gets help with dinner, and Kobe has a blast learning, exploring, and tasting. This duo certainly makes cooking look like a blast, and the fans simply can’t get enough.

What does Kobe like to eat? Mom says he’s quite the adventurous eater. There’s not a lot he’s not willing to try at least once. He started young, though. By six-months-old, mom and dad had Kobe trying a new food daily. Today, he’s not just trying the—he’s actually helping to cook them. Amazing!

So far, Kobe has followed directions perfectly in making some fairly difficult dishes, including parfaits, chicken fajita casserole with pico, pasta salad, blueberry muffins, pizza, steak and potatoes, and smoothies. Well, so what if he steals a few bites here and there. He has to be sure it’s up to par for the fam, right?

He’s made a lot of awesome dishes, but the excitement and happiness of Kobe’s mac & cheese video is by far the best.
