A Woman Who Naturally Conceived Three Children Outperforms The Odds Of Six Million To One

A triplet woman who naturally conceived three children despite the chances being six million to one reveals that caring for three newborns has left her feeling exhausted and depressed. Judit agota Minda, 31, from Norway, was stunned to discover she was expecting three children with her boyfriend Glenn, 38, who is now her fiancé. Having been advised by doctors to consider a fetal reduction due to a heart condition she suffers from, Judit decided she couldn’t imagine her life without all three, having grown up sharing an “unbreakable” bond with her sisters.

She gave birth to all three via c-section at 34 weeks on January 29 this year – and admits the sleep deprivation that comes with having three babies has triggered feelings of depression. Sleep deprivation is real and it can really contribute to the symptoms of depression, which is something she has not experienced before.

Although Judit lived in the US for a while, in 2015 she joined her sisters in Norway, and became a primary school teacher after spending four months learning the language. She met Glenn, a managing director, in December 2016 on a dating website and the pair moved in together three months later. Judit fell pregnant in June 2018 – and at eight weeks, the couple were gobsmacked when the doctor detected three heartbeats.

‘They say there is a one in six million chance for a naturally conceived triplet to go on to have naturally conceived triplets,’ Judit said.

Judit suffers from tachycardia, a condition that causes an irregular heartbeat, and doctors were concerned about the pressure carrying three babies would place on her heart. They suggested a foetal reduction to terminate the weakest baby to give them all the best chance of survival, but after initially agreeing, the couple decided they couldn’t do it.

Judit started up her Instagram account to document her pregnancy journey, with her posts receiving hundreds of likes from other triplet mums. She spoke openly about her terrible morning sickness, stretch marks and weak bladder.

Her children – Filip, Amelia and Henrik – were born weighing 4lb 4oz, 3lb 4oz and 3lb 3oz respectively.

‘When my babies were placed on my chest for the first time, I cried tears of joy. I had never felt such a powerful rush of love.’ Judit recalled

The babies stayed in intensive care until they gained enough strength to go home. Now Judit continues to share gorgeous photos of her family-of-five on her Instagram page, with regular updates and frank confessions. She recently revealed becoming a first time mother to three little babies has made her ‘a different person’ – and they’re trying a new sleeping routine.
